Hi, I’m Jill!

My journey with cake started in my grandmother’s kitchen in Henry County, VA. Her rolling pin and my mother’s biscuit cutter still play a role in my own kitchen. Cooking and Baking were love languages in my home and I continued that with my own children. Eventually I discovered I could bring that love into other’s homes as well and that’s when my Bakery Baby was born. I was living in San Diego, CA at the time and before I knew what was happening my hobby had turned into a home business, which then turned into a rented commercial space business, then my own brick & mortar dessert shop, and before long, a 2,000 sq ft Bakery & Cafe.

I retired my “Boss Lady” name tag in July of 2022 and moved back to the beautiful Roanoke Valley to connect with family and my wild grandkids! It’s full circle with those little ones watching ME bake cookies in my kitchen. They know I always keep the cookie jar full. But even without my fancy Cafe in San Diego, I will keep baking and spreading love in the best way I know how….CAKE!
